For Artists

The definition of an art internship and artists in residence program and the reasons for doing one is as varied and unique as the individuals involved. Some artists use it as an escape from their daily routine and as a chance to revitalize their creativity. However, art students may want to develop a portfolio for graduate school or as a transition from school to establish their art careers. For most artists, it is a way to push their work to new levels, explore new ideas and techniques, to focus intensely on their work and to interact with other artists.

Possibly, most important is this opportunity to work within a community of artists actively creating art, sharing discoveries, frustrations and triumphs. Artists working together over an extended period of time establishes friendships and connections that open new paths, develop careers, and change lives.
