If you love quilts you will not want to miss the upcoming Show-Me Quilt Show. This annual exhibit at Gallery Zeke starts September 2nd and runs until September 7th. The gallery will be open daily Monday through Saturday from 10:00 – 4:00. Did you know the word quilt comes from the Latin word culcita meaning stuffed sack. No one is exactly sure when quilting began, but from evidence found in the temple of Osiris at Alydos, Egypt. It seems that people wore quilted clothing as many as 5,000 years ago. Visiting this quilt show is a wonderful way to share in the rich history of quilting. Quilts that have been hand pieced and quilted, appliquéd, embroidered along with many other categories of quilt making will be on displayed. We hope you’ll join us to see these wonderful creations.
