ARTISTS IN RESIDENCY

The Steelville Arts Council’s Artist in Residency Program seeks to encourage the arts in our community and our region by supporting individuals who show exceptional excellence in their field. The Steelville Arts Council is seeking Resident artists. Resident artists will have the privilege of working in an exciting environment within a community of self-directed artists working on the cutting edge of their individual mediums. Artist residencies are available to students and professionals working in visual, literary, and performance art. At the conclusion of the residency term there will be a group exhibition featuring the current artists in residence work. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status. Housing and studios are smoke, pet and drug free environments.

Resident Artists Receive:

  • Housing
  • Studio Space
  • Recognition in Steelville Arts Council Publications
  • Representation in Cooperative Gallery Space
  • Resident Artist’s work will be featured in the Steelville Arts Council Gallery Reception that occurs at the end of the residency term

Resident Artists Are Responsible For:

  • Providing their own professional materials
  • Participation in work exchange program
  • Personal living expenses Including: Health Insurance, Telephone charges, Travel and Shipping Expenses

Applicants Must Submit

  • One copy of the written application
  • One copy of Resume / Curriculum Vitae
  • One page description of work or project you intend to accomplish      during residency term
  • One professional and one personal written recommendations
  • One set or copy of slides, CD, manuscript, or tapes if applicable.
  • Detailed requirements for working space, special needs or materials
